India weather update: IMD issues rainfall alert for Andhra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and THESE states – Check complete forecast

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued rainfall alerts for several parts of the country including Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. Andaman and Nicobar Island is likely to receive light/moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall during the next seven days. It has also advised fishermen not to venture into areas such as South Andaman sea and adjoining North Andaman sea.

Formation of a low pressure area

The Met Office has predicted a formation of a low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal on Tuesday. It is expected to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over Central and adjoining South Bay of Bengal around November 16.

A look at the weather conditions across several states:- 

  • Delhi: The national capital will experience mainly clear sky today with a shallow fog in the morning. The maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 27 and 14 degrees Celsius respectively. On Sunday, the maximum and minimum temperatures settled at 27.7 and 13.2 degrees Celsius respectively.
  • West Bengal and Sikkim: In Kolkata, the sky will remain mainly clear. The maximum and minimum temperatures are most likely to be around 30 and 22 degrees Celsius respectively.   • Jammu and Kashmir: The dry weather-like conditions will prevail over the state. According to the Regional Met Office, the maximum and minimum temperatures of Srinagar would be 18 and 1 degrees Celsius followed by Jammu (Max 28 and Min 11), Muzaffarabad (Max 26 and Min 10) and Mirpur (Max 28 and Min 13).
  • Himachal Pradesh: Shimla, the state capital, will experience sunny weather today. The maximum and minimum temperature is likely to be around 19 and 9 degrees Celsius respectively. The weather in lower hills, middle hills and upper reaches will remain dry. In the past 24 hours, the lowest temperature has been recorded in Keylong at (-)1.0 degree Celsius. The highest temperature was recorded at Dhaula Kuan at 26.5 degrees Celsius.
