Think of your Aadhaar like a special ID card, but instead of plastic, it lives on your phone! M-Aadhaar is like a mini-Aadhaar that shows your information. In other words, M-Aadhaar refers to the mobile app version of your Aadhaar card developed by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

It essentially lets you carry your Aadhaar information digitally on your smartphone and utilise various Aadhaar-related services conveniently.

M-Aadhaar Features:

  • View and store your Aadhaar card details: Access your demographic information, photograph, and Aadhaar number anytime, anywhere.
  • Authenticate Aadhaar: Use your phone for Aadhaar-based authentication at various service providers like banks, telecom operators, etc.
  • Download e-Aadhaar: Download a secure, digitally signed copy of your Aadhaar card within the app.
  • Link additional Aadhaar numbers: You can link up to five Aadhaar numbers of your family members in the app, provided they have registered mobile numbers.
  • Generate offline PIN: Create a temporary PIN for offline Aadhaar authentication in case your registered mobile phone is unavailable.
  • Check Aadhaar authentication history: Keep track of all your Aadhaar-based authentication transactions performed through the app.

Creating a profile on M-Aadhaar:

  • Download the app: M-Aadhaar is available for both Android and iOS devices. You can download it from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
  • Register your Aadhaar: Open the app and tap on the “Register Aadhaar” option. Enter your valid 12-digit Aadhaar number and the displayed captcha code.
  • Create a PIN or password: Set a 4-digit PIN or password for secure access to your M-Aadhaar profile. Remember, this is different from your Aadhaar card PIN.
  • Enter OTP: An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number linked to your Aadhaar. Enter the OTP to complete the registration process.
  • Access your profile: Once registered, you can access your M-Aadhaar profile using the PIN or password you created.

By creating a profile on M-Aadhaar, you can enjoy the convenience of carrying your Aadhaar information digitally and accessing various Aadhaar-enabled services right from your smartphone.
