According to the report by Hurun India published on 26th March, 94 new faces from India have entered the global billionaires list and the country’s billionaire count has reached 271 with a combined wealth of $1 trillion, according to the report.
Mumbai has now overtaken Beijing as Asia’s billionaire capital for the first time and Mukesh Ambani has topped the list of 271 billionaires in India, according to Global Rich List 2024 published by Hurun Research Institute.

According to the Hurun Global Rich List 2024 “Mumbai was the fastest-growing billionaire capital in the world, adding 26 in the year and taking it to third spot in the world and Asia’s billionaire capital. New Delhi broke into the Top 10 for the first time.”
According to the report by Hurun India published on 26th March, 94 new faces from India have entered the global billionaires list and the country’s billionaire count has reached 271 with a combined wealth of $1 trillion, according to the report.
Chairman & managing director of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani, who is also a prominent businessman in India became only Indian to make it into the top 10 of the Hurun Global Rich List 2024. Though his wealth increased by 40% to $115 billion, he dropped by one rank to 10th place on the global list, reported Business Standard.

Billionaires City Wise Ranking
New York as a city, topped the list with 119 billionaires and London on the 2nd number With 97 billionaires. New Delhi has also become part of the list for the first time ever with 57 billionaires. Mumbai alone has contributed 26 to the list.
Billionaires In Global Rich List
Another Business giant in India, Gautam Adani with $86 billion and a 33% surge in wealth, is the next Indian on the global rich list, ranking 15th.
Rohiqa Cyrus Mistry, wife of the late Cyrus Mistry, who leads Sterling Investments, and Ina Ashwin Dani of paint manufacturer Asian Paints are among the new billionaires in the list.

Other Countries In Global Rich List
China topped the list with 814 billionaires. However, after the economy was down and sectors like real estate and renewable energy were not performing much, the country’s ultra-rich list was reduced by 155 from 2022. 40 billionaires of the country dropped out of the list and the overall wealth in the country also declined by 15%.
The US is second in the list with 800 total billionaires, adding 109 new members. Taylor Swift with a wealth of $1.2 billion also became part of the list.
The US accounted for 37% of the global rich list and the number of billionaires recorded a growth of 5% and their total wealth rose by 9%.
