Before the official launch, Nothing has been hyping up their upcoming smartphone, which is as expected. The company has been generating quite a bit of excitement – it’s become somewhat of a trademark for them, hasn’t it? Just this morning, Nothing shared a video of the company CEO Carl Pei speaking to people on the streets of Bandra in Mumbai, about their expectations from the smartphone. In the process, Pei also revealed that the smartphone will be priced around Rs 25,000 –– which is honestly exactly what we were expecting, and we think that price is going to be very good for the smartphone.

At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024, last week, Nothing also showcased the Nothing Phone 2a. While attendees couldn’t physically use it, they did release all the design specifics, including images of the rear design on social media.

At this point, there is nothing we don’t know about the phone.

The official images of the Nothing Phone 2a reveal an exciting design featuring a dual camera setup, placed horizontally in the middle of the top part of the phone. This design choice, with the camera placement resembling a pair of eyes amidst the transparent strips, is not only aesthetically pleasing but also adds a sense of character to the device. The company had subtly hinted at this new camera alignment through its ‘Fresh.Eyes.’ campaign.

Additionally, it’s confirmed that the Nothing Phone 2a will indeed come with a glyph interface, contrary to some rumors. This unique feature, which allows for personalising glyphs to be assigned to specific callers, is a hallmark of Nothing’s unique user experience.

Two color options, black and white, will be available, consistent with the minimalist aesthetics of the brand. The transparent design, a signature of Nothing, extends to the flat display and edges of the phone. The material of the edges isn’t explicitly stated but appears to have a matte finish.

In terms of specs, the Phone 2a will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset with up to 12 GB RAM. Other variants with lower RAM and storage are expected, but details are yet to be confirmed.

Leaked information points towards the presence of two 50-megapixel cameras in the dual setup at the rear, along with a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.
